Jacob Against the Angel

My Hebrew name is Yaakov — in English, Jacob. Given even as a child dreams of the world unloosening its ordinary whirl, I have long been fascinated by skies that open, ladders that transport, messengers from unknown realms. Wrestling is hard to tell from merely struggling to comprehend. Every time I think I understand how the world works, another reality intrudes. Disruption can be ruin, but disruption is also affirmation: of creativity, curiosity, imagination, a welcome invitation to depart unthought boundedness.
